The bat is solid silver and hangs on a 18 inch chain. On the clasp is a hallmarked silver bug for your bat to eat if he gets hungry.

Silver: £150.00

Yellow Gold: £200.00

The Bat! Why did I choose to make a bat? After making my Sloth Necklace and it having so much love I wanted to make a range of necklaces with animals that hang from the chain and what better animal for this then a lovely little bat clinging upside down. Why is he awake and upside down you ask? Simple he's only just woken up!

I make most of my jewellery using the process of wax carving. I love this technique but it does require a lot of patience (not just from me but from my lovely customers who see my wax creations and put in orders before the product is even for sale!) (Which is a super lovely feeling to know people do like it and it is worth all the effort!)

Once I am happy with my wax creation I say goodbye and send it off to London to get cast in Brass. I then clean this casting up until it is immaculate so that I get the best possible bat to make a mould out of.

The lovely casters then use the mould to make more wax bats that then using the process of lost wax casting become the silver bats that spread their wings and fly home with their new owners! Each bat is cleaned up and I put it together on a necklace chain cut to size and attach a little silver bug casting which is where you will be able to see the hallmarks saying your necklace is solid silver, hallmarked in London, and made by me!

It is a long process and it does take time as I put so much effort into getting the best bat I can. Each bat is given so much love and attention to make sure it is just perfect as I want you to love him just as much as I do!
