Why did I decide to make a sloth necklace? This is a question I quite often get asked!! And the truth is I made it for myself! I made it thinking what would I like to have to wear all the time and soon discovered this little guy was pretty popular and had a bit of a fan club! I get compliments when I am wearing it all the time and it is so lovely  to be able to say I made it myself!

I make most of my jewellery using the process of wax carving. I love this technique but it does require a lot of patience (not just from me but from my lovely customers who see my wax creations and put in orders before the product is even for sale!) (Which is a super lovely feeling to know people do like it and it is worth all the effort!)

Once I am happy with my wax creation I say goodbye and send it off to London to get cast in Brass. I then clean this casting up until it is immaculate so that I get the best possible sloth to make a mould out of.

The lovely casters then use the mould to make more wax sloths that then using the process of lost wax casting become the silver sloths that laze around your necks all day! Each sloth is cleaned up and I put it together on a necklace chain cut to size and attach a little silver leaf casting which is where you will be able to see the hallmarks saying your necklace is solid silver, hallmarked in London, and made by me!

It is a long process and it does take time as I put so much effort into getting the best sloth I can. Each sloth is given so much love and attention to make sure it is just perfect as I want you to love him just as much as I do!
